Sonji K. Grandy has over 30 years of background in the insurance industry, specializing in meeting the needs of affluent clients.  Highly skilled in protection management and identifying potential financial vulnerabilities, she has earned a stellar reputation throughout the industry when dealing with individual clients and their immediate families.  She is trained to review client portfolios with a proactive, analytical, and creative approach to risk management.

Mrs. Grandy was recently awarded one of Insurance Business America’s” Elite Women of the Year” in 2021 and 2022 for her exceptional value through white-glove service, advocacy, and her heart to serve others. She is recognized by her peers as an industry leader and specialist in Private Client Services. In addition, she has been solicited to serve as a peer mentor to emerging leaders in the insurance industry.

She has also been awarded one of Insurance Business America’s “Hot 100” in the insurance industry separating individuals who stand out for their exceptional work in the varying fields of insurance expertise for 2022 and 2023.

Committed to excellence, Mrs. Grandy balances between vocation and community service.  She is the Vice President of Generation X Community Association, a not-for-profit organization established to invest time, talent, and economic resources to "pay it forward" throughout the state of New Jersey. The objective is to serve the youth, the underserved/underemployed population, and individuals who have experienced a season of incarceration.  The organization believes that faith and belief in oneself will help anyone survive trauma and tragedies experienced physically, economically, and emotionally. With a dream and support, people can recover from any challenges that life presents.

She has co-chaired and co-founded an employee resource group, to address the needs of the marginalized and often passed-over employees of color. Her goal has been and continues to be to create a safe space for her colleagues to form relationships, access resources, and participate in a supportive community.

In 2020, during the pandemic, Mrs. Grandy continued her heart of service by starting an online blog, www.itsabattle.com She is a loving wife to an incredible man, and the mother of three amazing daughters. She currently resides in the great state of New Jersey.
